Thanks for your interest in Seven Maples Dairy Goats. I have been raising goats since 1989 and manage a herd of about 50 animals - Alpines, Lamanchas, and Toggenburgs. Starting with a total purchase of 9 does between 1989 and 1991, I embarked on an upgrading program through the bucks I chose for my breeding. Interested in upgrading for both production and the show ring, I have been on continuous DHIR milk test since March, 1990, and linear appraise annually. With each year that passed, I was pleased to see a steady increase of LA scores. In 1998, I finished my first "homebred" champion. I have also had 3 bucks with LA scores of 90, one of them a homebred Toggenburg and this past year, I had two of my Alpines score 91s. In 2002 I had my first doe receive an 90 LA score; she appraised again this year with a 90. I am very pleased with the progression of my herd's improvements over the years and feel confident that this year's kids will continue in this manner.

Although I had made it to at least 3 or 4 weekends of shows in the past, I have not shown for the past several years. I did attend the ADGA National shows in 1997 and 1998.

My husband, Jerry, is a born 'n bred dairy farmer. His years of experience and knowledge as a dairy-farmer have been invaluable to the management of my goat herd. We grow all of our own feeds and hays, and grain rations are adjusted to suit the needs of my herd in their different stages of life and lactation.

Kid management includes a CAE preventative program - with carefully attended births, heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized milk. BoSe, A&D, and vaccines for enterotoxemia and tetanus are administered. Coccidiosis treatment is started in the kid's milk and continued in their grain mixture through the addition of minerals containing a coccidiostat. For the past 6 years I have been on a free-choice, cold-milk feeding program and feel that the kid's growth and development is exceptional with this method.

A deposit of $50.00 will hold the kid of your choice. Prices listed are for pick-up here at the farm. Any other fees for health certificates, transportation/shipping charges, vet fees, etc. are the buyer's responsibility. Kids must be picked up by five weeks of age. If a reserved kid is not born, or does not meet our standards, the buyer's deposit can be refunded or transferred to an alternate choice. It is recommended that you supply a second choice with your deposit.
If you need any further information on any doe listed, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me. We have no phone in the barn, so please leave a message on the answering machine and I will get back to you. Thanks for taking the time to review our sales list.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Seven Maples Farm - if you have any questions or just want to say "Hello", please email us - we would love to hear from you.
